Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT Allahabad) is engaging a Junior Research Assistant in its Department of Biotechnology for a Council of Science & Technology, Uttar Pradesh sponsored project. The project, Evolving Perspectives of Exosomal miRNA-182-3p in Gallbladder Cancer Diagnostics, explores whether a specific microRNA can help with less invasive cancer detection. This is a laboratory-focused research assignment in Prayagraj for a candidate who is comfortable with molecular-biology work.

The study will examine miR-182-3p expression in gallbladder-cancer tissue samples using different laboratory techniques. It will also look for the same marker in exosomes obtained from blood and urine, then study how it connects with molecular pathways involved in disease progression. Your work will support the team's effort to understand whether the marker has practical value as a non-invasive diagnostic signal.

The role gives you exposure to molecular assays, sample processing and cancer-biology research under the principal investigator. Familiarity with DNA and RNA isolation, cDNA preparation, PCR methods, gel electrophoresis and western blot work will help you settle into the project quickly. You should also be ready to keep clean experiment records and handle sensitive biological samples carefully.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Residency condition: you must be an Indian national and a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
• Initial tenure: the appointment starts on a one-year contract and may be extended after a yearly performance review until the project ends.
• Temporary engagement: the position is co-terminus with the sponsored project and follows CSTUP project guidelines and MNNIT rules.
• Accommodation: institute accommodation may be offered only when available and under the applicable norms.
• Academic option: the selected researcher may register for a PhD if the institute's admission conditions, including the applicable NET or GATE requirement, are met.
• Project-staff benefits: yearly leave, carry-forward leave and medical support may be available under the rules that apply to project staff.
• Shortlisting: meeting the basic requirement does not guarantee an interview; MNNIT may shortlist by merit and the project's needs.
• Interview travel: the institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.
