MANIT Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal is taking one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) into its Department of Mechanical Engineering for a research project on 3D-printed dual functionally graded scaffolds with piezoelectric and self-healing properties for bone regeneration and critical bone defect repair. The project is funded by the Department of Science and Technology through the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and runs for 36 months under advertisement number MECH/2026/SEP/00272.

The work sits where mechanical engineering, materials science and biomedical engineering meet, so the institute is open to candidates from any of those backgrounds. Selection is through a single walk-in interview at the Bhopal campus, with no written test stage — and the fellow who is picked can also register for a Ph.D. at MANIT while working on the project.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of the post: purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — the institute carries no liability to keep project staff once the project finishes or is terminated.
• JRF to SRF: you join as a Junior Research Fellow for the first two years and move up to Senior Research Fellow in the third year, subject to your eligibility and performance.
• Ph.D. option: the selected fellow can register for a Ph.D. at MANIT Bhopal as per the institute's own norms.
• No claim on regular posts: working on this project gives you no claim to any regular or part-time appointment at the institute.
• Travel: no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and you make your own arrangements for reaching Bhopal.
• Equivalent degrees: the selection committee decides whether your degree is equivalent to the ones listed, and its decision is final and binding.
• Cancellation: MANIT can cancel this recruitment at any stage without giving reasons, no interim correspondence is entertained, and canvassing in any form will disqualify you.
• Honest declarations: false or misleading information in the application can get your candidature cancelled at any point of the selection.

Report at the Committee Room, Ground Floor, Mechanical Engineering Department, MANIT Bhopal by 10:00 AM on the interview day. Candidates who reach after the reporting time will not be allowed to appear, so plan to arrive early. Carry your detailed CV along with the originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of the certificates named in the application form, and keep your complete academic record from Class X onwards plus your GATE year, discipline and score ready — the panel asks for these at the desk.
