KAU SRF Agronomy Recruitment 2026: Overview

Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), through ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Palakkad, is hiring a Senior Research Fellow for the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture project. The role is based around NICRA project villages in Pattithara panchayat and focuses on practical field work that helps farming systems respond to climate stress. This is a project-linked research position, so it suits an agronomy postgraduate who is comfortable working outside the office as well as handling data.

The project is supported by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture. Your work will connect village-level observations with technical reporting at KVK Palakkad. Experience in a similar ICAR or State Agricultural University project is useful because the role combines agricultural field coordination, computer work and statistics.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project tenure: the initial engagement covers the current financial year and may continue only if the funding agency approves the project and your performance is satisfactory.
  • No regular claim: the post is time-bound and co-terminus with the project; selection does not give you a right to regular absorption in KVK or the university.
  • Early end: the engagement can close when the scheme ends or if your performance is found unsatisfactory.
  • Travel cost: KAU will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in or for related travel.
  • Current employees: bring a No Objection Certificate from your employer and the original project-relevant experience certificate, where applicable.
  • Joining window: a selected person must join within the period stated in the appointment order, or the selection will be cancelled automatically.
  • Updates: keep checking the university and KVK websites because any interview change will be posted there without a separate advertisement.

Application Submission Notes

This is a walk-in recruitment at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Palakkad, Kerala Agricultural University, Mele Pattambi. Fill the application form linked on the official announcement and bring it with your academic and experience records. Send an advance copy of the form and a brief resume to kvkpalakkad@kau.in before attending.

Carry both the original documents and self-attested copies covering your age, qualifications and experience. If you already work elsewhere, include the employer's No Objection Certificate. The advance email does not replace personal attendance at the walk-in interview.

The position involves work at NICRA project sites in Pattithara panchayat, Palakkad district, not only desk work at the KVK office. Before you travel, check the official KAU announcement for any schedule update and keep enough time for document checking at the venue.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate agronomy research activities at NICRA project villages
  • Collect and organize crop, weather, and field observation data
  • Support climate-resilient agriculture demonstrations with farmers
  • Analyse project data using computer and statistical tools
  • Prepare technical notes, progress records, and project reports
  • Work with KVK scientists, field staff, and participating farmers
  • Maintain accurate research files and evidence for project review
