JMI JRF Infrared Photodetectors Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a project on infrared photodetectors in its Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, in New Delhi. Led by Prof. Prabhash Mishra, the ANRF-SERB project studies polarization-sensitive infrared photodetectors based on double van der Waals heterostructures. Your appointment will be tied to this research project and its completion.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The fellowship runs until the project finishes. The notice does not give a fixed calendar end date, so you should understand the engagement as linked to the life of the project.
• Joining: If selected, you must be ready to join immediately after receiving the offer. Keep this condition in mind when considering any existing work or study commitments.
• Performance: The university can end the fellowship before the project finishes if your performance is unsatisfactory. The notice provides for a 30-day notice period in that situation.
• Appointment rules: The institute and funding agency rules that apply to this project will govern your appointment. The selection committee has the final say on its decision.
• Travel: You will not receive a travel or daily allowance for attending the interview. Plan any necessary travel with that condition in mind.
