IOP Research Assistant Nuclear Physics Recruitment 2026: Overview
Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous research institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, is recruiting a Research Assistant for a nuclear physics project. The work is supported by the Ramanujan Fellowship Research Grant RJF/2025/000314 and is led by Dr. Rudra N. Sahoo.
The project, Neutron Capture Reactions and Heavy-Ion Fusion at Sub-Barrier Energies, brings together accelerator-based experiments and numerical work. This gives you the context for the research interests you describe in your application: the appointment belongs to this specific physics project at IOP in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial appointment: The engagement starts with a one-year term. You should consider this a project appointment with a defined initial period.
- Possible extension: The appointment may continue for up to two further years. An extension depends on satisfactory performance, so it is not an automatic commitment for the entire possible period.
Application Submission Notes
Send your application in PDF format to rudra.sahoo@iopb.res.in, the email address provided for the project. This is an email application: the notification directs you to the principal investigator’s address rather than an online registration form.
Your referee can send the recommendation letter directly to the same address. This gives you an alternative to including the letter in your own email and lets the referee communicate directly with the project contact.
The named contact is Dr. Rudra N. Sahoo, Ramanujan Faculty, at Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, PIN 751005, Odisha. Use the project and grant details above to identify the opportunity when discussing the recommendation with your referee.
