IGRUA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is recruiting Aircraft Maintenance Engineers for its flying-training operations. The notice covers Avionics and Mechanical streams, with work at Fursatganj Airfield in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, and/or Birsi Airport in Gondia, Maharashtra. These are contract appointments supporting the academy's aircraft maintenance work.

Post-wise Duties

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Avionics

You will inspect systems, trace faults, carry out maintenance and certify work within your licence or authorization. Your work must follow the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) rules, approved maintenance information and IGRUA procedures. The notice places communication and navigation equipment alongside electrical and instrumentation systems within this stream's scope.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Mechanical

You will inspect and maintain the airframe, engine and other mechanical systems, diagnose faults and certify work within your authorization. The same requirement to follow approved manuals and DGCA rules applies here. Both streams must keep proper maintenance records and protect aircraft safety and airworthiness.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial contract runs for 11 months and may be extended. The engagement gives no right to a regular appointment or permanent absorption.
• Aircraft rating and bond: If you do not hold the specific rating for IGRUA's aircraft, the academy may consider you subject to obtaining that rating and signing its service bond. If you already hold the relevant type rating and can take up duties from joining, this bond is not required.
• Workplace: The notice allows assignment at Amethi and/or Gondia. Do not assume that the appointment is restricted to the Amethi campus.
• Recruitment discretion: Applying does not guarantee a call or appointment. IGRUA may cancel, limit or change the recruitment process, and canvassing leads to disqualification.
• Disputes: The notice places any recruitment-related dispute under the jurisdiction of courts in Lucknow.
