ICMR NIHR ADOPT Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Council of Medical Research National Institute of Health Research (ICMR-NIHR), Gorakhpur is recruiting project staff for ADOPT, which stands for Accelerating Dissemination and Operational Promotion of Health Technology Assessment in India. The notice brings research, administration and field support into the same project team, with work based at the institute and elsewhere in India when needed. These are project contracts, so you should consider the project terms carefully before leaving an existing job.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical): The senior research position within the ADOPT team, with routes for research and engineering, information technology or computer science backgrounds.
  • Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): A research position in the same project; the notice also highlights microbiology, biochemistry and biotechnology among its preferred backgrounds.
  • Administrative Officer: The project administration role, supporting the office side of the engagement and its institutional processes.
  • Field Officer: The public health field role, linked to surveys, community studies and the use of digital tools for collecting information.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical)

The notice does not give a detailed daily work plan. In this senior research role, you can expect to help organise research work and support the team's interpretation and reporting of project findings.

Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

For the research position, typical work includes supporting project studies, checking research records and helping prepare findings for the team. The precise assignment will depend on the project's needs.

Administrative Officer

You can expect to support project administration, including office records, correspondence and coordination. These are general role expectations; the advertisement does not set out a separate duty schedule.

Field Officer

The notice's preferred background points to field surveys and community research. Typical support would include collecting field information and keeping clear records for the research team.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The initial engagement is for one year and may be extended under the applicable rules. The project can end the position earlier.
  • Project approval: Filling the advertised posts depends on project needs and approval. The institute can change the positions, cancel recruitment or advertise again.
  • Funding: Payment depends on the funding agency making funds available. The project-specific rates can change with the agency's sanction.
  • Leaving the position: Either side can end the engagement with one month's notice. If you leave before completing one month of work, the notice says the pay already drawn must be forfeited.
  • No regular appointment claim: This engagement does not give you a right to a permanent institute post or continued work in another project.
  • Joining terms: Department of Health Research project staff guidelines apply, and you must give the required undertakings before joining.
  • Travel: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the interview or written test.
  • Updates: The institute can change the interview or test arrangements for administrative reasons. Check its announcements before travelling; results will appear on the institute and ICMR websites.

Application Submission Notes

The online form requires a Google sign-in before you can continue. If you are interested in more than one role, complete a separate application for each; the notice does not treat a single application as covering every role.

The reporting venue is ICMR-NIHR, Gorakhpur, with reporting from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM on your role's scheduled day. Late arrival can prevent you from taking part.
