This is direct recruitment through a single competitive written exam — there is no separate interview round. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (12th) examination with Physics, Chemistry and English subjects, conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (or an equivalent recognized board).
• Computer Knowledge: You must have basic computer application knowledge as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification (General) Rules, 1967.
• Language: You should have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and/or Hindi, or both.
• Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen, or hold a nationality permitted under Rule 7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 33 years old as on 3 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: General category women get 5 years; reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) men get 5 years; reserved category women get 10 years (maximum age 45 years).
• PwBD Candidates: General category men with disabilities get 10 years, general category women get 15 years; reserved category men with disabilities get 15 years, reserved category women get 20 years (maximum age capped at 45 years in all these cases).
• Ex-servicemen get relaxation equal to their length of military service plus 3 additional years.
• Candidates already working in Gujarat government service can get their upper age limit relaxed as per existing rules.

Salary

• You will get a fixed salary of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first five years of service.
• After five years of satisfactory service, you move into the regular 7th Pay Commission Level-2 pay scale of Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
• You will also get other allowances as applicable under the relevant government resolutions.

• General/Unreserved category: Rs. 500
• Reserved categories (women of all categories, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen): Rs. 400

Selection Process

GSSSB selects candidates through a single computer-based written exam:

1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR-based MCQ): The exam has Part A (90 questions, 90 marks — reasoning and data interpretation, quantitative aptitude, and the Constitution of India/current affairs/Gujarati and English comprehension) and Part B (120 questions, 120 marks — X-Ray Assistant subject knowledge). You get 3 hours combined for both parts, with 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
2. Provisional Merit List: Prepared from your combined Part A and Part B score, subject to a minimum qualifying mark of 40% in each part.
3. Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce their original certificates for verification.
4. Final Selection List: Prepared office-wise and category-wise based on your verified merit position.

GSSSB will announce the exam date and exam centre later on its website, and you will need to download your admit card (hall ticket) from gsssb.gujarat.gov.in before the exam.
