Gun Carriage Factory (GCF), Jabalpur, a unit of Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) under the Ministry of Defence, is hiring Skilled Experienced Tradesmen on fixed tenure contracts. The notified trade is Fitter Electrical/Electronics, supporting large calibre guns and their mechanical, electrical and electronic components. This engagement is based at the factory in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: You start with a one-year contract. The factory can extend it to a maximum total of four years, including the initial year, depending on its requirements and your performance.
• Working week: Your usual production schedule is 8 hours a day over 6 days, making 48 hours a week. GCF decides the work pattern according to its production needs.
• Performance reviews: The factory reviews your work every half year. If performance is unsatisfactory, you get three months to improve before another review; continued poor performance can lead to termination with 15 days of notice.
• Leave: Paid leave is available for 12 days a year, adjusted to the length of your contract. Unused leave cannot be carried forward or exchanged for cash, and leave beyond your entitlement can lead to deductions.
• Contract status: This engagement gives you no claim to regular employment. You must follow the factory rules governing work and conduct throughout your contract.
• Ending the contract: Either side can end the engagement with one month of notice or the notice payment described in the advertisement. Serious misconduct or unauthorised absence can result in immediate termination.
• Communication: Keep your email address and mobile number active throughout recruitment. GCF sends calls to shortlisted applicants through email or the application portal and may also use SMS.
• Reserve panel: A reserve list may be drawn up where suitable applicants are available. It lasts for one year or until the next panel becomes available, whichever happens first; joining from this list depends on GCF's needs.
• Recruitment changes: GCF can change the intake according to its requirements and may amend or cancel the exercise. If the language versions differ, the English advertisement takes priority.
• Workplace rules: Your engagement is full time, and factory standing orders apply to your conduct. Company holidays follow the arrangements available to regular employees, while unauthorised absence leads to proportionate deductions.
• Joining follow-up: Completing police verification is a condition of continuing in the role. You are responsible for following up with the police station so that the verified report reaches GCF within the permitted period.
• Jurisdiction: Any dispute about this engagement falls under the courts or tribunals in Jabalpur. Keep this condition in mind when reviewing the contract before joining.

• Assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components of large calibre guns.
