ECL Advisor Materials Management Recruitment 2026: Overview

Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a Coal India Limited subsidiary, is engaging a full-time Advisor in Materials Management at its headquarters. This is a specialist contractual assignment for a retired senior executive who can bring deep procurement and contract-management experience into coal-sector operations. The role is advisory rather than supervisory, so your written recommendations and professional judgement will be central to the assignment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The first engagement runs for one year and may be extended when ECL still needs the role and your performance is satisfactory. The assignment ends automatically when the approved term expires unless ECL extends it.
• Place of work: You will be stationed at ECL headquarters in Sanctoria, West Bengal. Official tours may be required when the company needs your input at another location.
• Advisory authority: Your proposals, comments and recommendations must be given in writing under your signature. You will not supervise employees, control their daily work, or certify departmental bills.
• Confidentiality: Information and records seen during the engagement must remain confidential during and after the contract. All company material in your possession must be handed back to the General Manager or Head of Department, Materials Management when you leave.
• Exit terms: Either side may end the contract with one month's notice or the corresponding consolidated compensation. You must normally join within 15 days of the offer; otherwise, the offer can be withdrawn.
• Other work: You cannot accept another full-time advisory or administrative appointment while serving ECL. People who opted for voluntary retirement are not considered under this notice.
• Process caveat: ECL may change, restrict or cancel the engagement process and will place amendments only on its own website. The company also states that it is not responsible for misleading information published elsewhere.
