Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Barrackpore, under the Ministry of Defence, is recruiting medical and non-medical staff on contract. The appointments cover ECHS polyclinics at Barrackpore, Krishnanagar and Hooghly (Arambagh) in West Bengal. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: the notice describes engagement for one year or up to 31 March 2027. It also allows renewal for an additional year or until the maximum applicable age, subject to performance and the scheme's other conditions.
• Renewal condition: continued engagement depends on the stated conditions and is not automatic. The renewal wording does not turn the initial engagement into a permanent appointment.
• Training: selected staff must complete ten days of on-the-job training before taking charge. This training period is unpaid. Allow for that condition when considering the appointment.
• Deployment: you may be employed or transferred to any polyclinic under Station ECHS Cell Barrackpore. The notice names Barrackpore, Krishnanagar and Hooghly, and permits movement for either a temporary period or the full engagement.
• Reserve pool: a pool of candidates found fit will be retained for later engagement. The notice describes subsequent employment for up to one year or up to 31 March 2027.
• Preference: ex-servicemen receive preference under this recruitment. The separate conditions for each role still apply.
• Travel: no travel or daily allowance is payable for attending the interview. You will need to arrange travel at your own expense.
