DEO Chatra Teacher Recruitment 2026: Overview

District Education Office, Chatra (Residential Schools Chatra), through the Welfare Branch of the Deputy Commissioner's office, is arranging hourly part-time teachers for welfare residential schools in Lawalong, Simaria, Hunterganj and Pratappur. The immediate aim is to keep classroom teaching running where approved teaching posts are unfilled. This is a local, stop-gap service arrangement for candidates who can support school students until regular teachers join.

The notice covers upper-primary, secondary and primary classrooms rather than a single subject post. Subject-trained candidates can choose the discipline that matches their degree, while primary-teacher applicants will work with younger classes across the basic curriculum. The district gives preference to qualified people from the relevant block, particularly local-language users and candidates from the priority groups named in the notice.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Mathematics, Geography and Economics: Subject teaching for Classes 6 to 10, with lesson planning suited to the state school curriculum.
  • English and Sanskrit: Language instruction for Classes 6 to 10, including reading, writing and classroom practice.
  • PT and Music or Art: Activity-based teaching that supports physical fitness, creativity and student participation.
  • Computer: Classroom instruction in basic computer concepts and practical use of available school systems.
  • Primary Teacher: Foundational teaching for Classes 1 to 5 at residential schools across the listed blocks.

Post-wise Duties

Mathematics Teacher

You will explain concepts through worked examples and regular practice and help learners build accuracy.

Geography Teacher

You will connect maps, places and environments with clear classroom activities.

PT Teacher

You will lead safe physical activities and games suited to the students' age groups.

Computer Teacher

You will teach basic digital concepts and practical computer use with the equipment available at school.

Economics Teacher

You will make economic ideas understandable through everyday local examples.

English Teacher

You will strengthen reading, writing, grammar and spoken confidence through guided practice.

Sanskrit Teacher

You will teach language foundations, grammar and prescribed texts for the relevant classes.

Music or Art Teacher

You will organise creative lessons and student activities in the selected discipline.

Primary Teacher

You will support foundational learning across subjects and maintain a steady classroom routine for younger students.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Short-term service: The first engagement is for six months. It may be extended after a district committee reviews performance and need, but the arrangement cannot continue beyond one year.
  • End of engagement: Your service ends automatically when a regular teacher is appointed to the post.
  • Work schedule: Teachers work on at least five days a week, with no more than four teaching periods in one working day.
  • Attendance-based payment: Payment depends on the teaching periods recorded through daily attendance.
  • No additional benefits: The engagement carries no extra allowance, leave entitlement, school accommodation or transfer right.
  • Local preference: Preference goes to qualified applicants from the same block, including local-language users and the community groups specified in the notice. If no suitable block-level applicant is found, the committee may consider a candidate available elsewhere in the district.
  • Merit preparation: The district committee will prepare the panel under government directions and its approved evaluation criteria. State reservation rules apply.
