DCPPL Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

DVC CIL Power Private Limited (DCPPL), a joint venture of Damodar Valley Corporation and Coal India Limited, is building the DVC-CIL Chandrapura Thermal Power Station as a brownfield expansion at the existing Chandrapura campus. This full-time contractual drive brings experienced professionals into the project for civil works, project engineering, electrical-commercial work, human resources and environmental management. The assignment is aimed at senior professionals with substantial power-sector or comparable industry experience, including retired executives and eligible private-sector leaders.

The plant is planned as a large ultra-supercritical thermal-power project, so the roles focus on decisions, coordination and compliance rather than routine junior-level execution. You should choose the discipline that matches both your technical background and the seniority level you held in your previous organisation. Private-company applicants are assessed with reference to their employer's turnover, listing status and relevant assignments, while public-sector applicants must match the prescribed executive-grade framework.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Civil Construction: Leads planning, drawing review, civil construction, erection, quality, safety and contract coordination for the thermal-power project.
  • Construction Engineering and Project: Oversees engineering deliverables, EPC packages, schedules, construction methods, commissioning and resolution of technical or contractual issues.
  • Electrical Engineering and Commercial: Handles power-purchase agreements, tariff and regulatory work, connectivity, power evacuation and commercial coordination with procurers and commissions.
  • HR and Industrial Relations: Shapes organisation structure, workforce planning, recruitment, training, industrial relations, labour-law compliance and performance systems for the project.
  • Environment Engineering and Management: Guides environmental and forest clearances, management plans, audits, regulatory compliance and liaison with statutory authorities.

Post-wise Duties

Technical and Project Roles

You will lead discipline-specific project decisions, review the work of consultants and contractors, and help the project team resolve safety, quality, cost, schedule or regulatory issues. The civil and environmental appointees are based at Chandrapura, while other appointees may work from Kolkata, Chandrapura or another project location according to DCPPL's needs.

Commercial and People Roles

You will provide senior strategic guidance on commercial agreements, regulation, workforce systems or industrial relations, depending on the selected discipline. The position expects hands-on coordination with internal teams, government bodies, contractors and other stakeholders rather than an advisory title with no operational involvement.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The initial engagement is normally for up to one year and may be extended for another year after satisfactory performance, subject to the maximum service-age condition.
  • Nature of appointment: The engagement is temporary and creates no right to regular DCPPL employment.
  • Work location: You may need to visit project sites whenever the assignment requires it.
  • Medical fitness: Appointment is subject to a medical examination before joining.
  • Cooling-off: A retired government official needs a gap of at least fifteen days between retirement and this engagement.
  • Conflict and confidentiality: You must protect project information, avoid outside work that conflicts with DCPPL, and hand over the assignment records before final settlement.
  • Termination: Either side may end the contract with one month's prior notice, subject to the detailed conditions in the notice.

Application Submission Notes

Email your CV to recruitment@dcppl.in. The CV should include a clear photograph plus your qualification, experience, personal and contact information. DCPPL will not accept another application route, and no hard copy is needed before the personal interview.

If your experience is from a private company, include the employer's audited annual reports, proof of listed status where applicable, and details of relevant assignments. Keep the originals and self-attested copies specified in the notice ready for the interview.
