Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your engagement lasts six months, or until the project or assigned project work ends, whichever comes first. Further six-month extensions depend on project duration and satisfactory performance.
• Overall tenure: Combined service in these or equivalent project roles across CSIR laboratories cannot exceed six years. Earlier project service reduces the time available for a new engagement.
• Appointment status: You work for the project sponsor. The engagement creates no right to a regular CSIR or CSIR-CEERI post.
• Alternative designation: For post codes 3407 and 3409, the notice allows consideration at Project Associate-I level if a suitable Project Associate-II applicant is not found.
• Representation: When other factors are equal, the institute may prefer SC, ST, OBC, PwBD or EWS applicants to support representation.
• Joining: Selected applicants are expected to join immediately. The committee may also recommend panels for later project needs.
• Changes and interpretation: CEERI can change the number of positions according to its needs. Offers may be withdrawn if discrepancies arise, and the English advertisement takes precedence over its Hindi translation.
