APCRDA Environment Specialists Recruitment 2026: Overview

Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is building its Environmental and Social Management Unit for the Amaravati capital-region programme. This recruitment combines a senior leadership role with a hands-on sustainability engineering role, both engaged on contract at the APCRDA project office in Amaravati. The central theme is environmental performance across city-scale infrastructure—from safeguards and approvals to energy efficiency, climate action and carbon accounting. The authority needs professionals who can work across planning, engineering, regulation and stakeholder coordination rather than within a narrow technical desk.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Director (Environment), ESM Unit: leads the environmental unit and connects APCRDA policy, project design and implementation with environmental safeguards, regulatory clearances and sustainability goals.
  • Senior Specialist/Engineer (Sustainability/Environment Management), ESM Unit: focuses on green buildings, energy conservation, renewable-energy options, greenhouse-gas accounting, climate resilience and practical sustainability tools for urban projects.

Post-wise Duties

Director (Environment)

You will give strategic direction to the ESM environmental team, build and apply the Environmental Management Framework, and make sure environmental findings are reflected in project design and execution. Your work also covers environmental assessments, project-specific management plans, regulatory coordination and performance monitoring across APCRDA projects. You will guide consultants and staff, lead public consultations, prepare periodic progress reports and work with the social, gender and grievance-redress teams so that safeguards are handled as one programme rather than as separate checklists.

Senior Specialist/Engineer

You will turn sustainability targets into engineering and reporting systems. The role covers greenhouse-gas inventories, carbon-footprint and climate-risk analysis, energy audits, renewable-energy measures, district-cooling concepts and green-building frameworks. You will collaborate with architects, developers and government agencies, track compliance with energy and climate policies, and prepare monitoring reports that show where further mitigation is needed. Data analysis and technical presentation are important because the work links city planning decisions with measurable environmental outcomes.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: Both appointments are contractual for one year.
  • Work base: The roles are based at APCRDA, Amaravati in Guntur district, and the requirement is immediate.
  • Official travel: APCRDA will provide a vehicle facility to the Director (Environment) for official duties.
  • Project need: The authority may vary the posts according to project requirements and may fill, modify or cancel the recruitment.
  • Application channel: Only applications made through the APCRDA careers system will be processed.
  • Cross-functional work: Both roles require regular coordination with consultants, communities, regulators and other public departments involved in Amaravati projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental planning and sustainability work for APCRDA projects
  • Prepare and monitor environmental management frameworks and project plans
  • Coordinate environmental clearances and compliance with regulatory authorities
  • Assess greenhouse-gas emissions, energy use and climate risks
  • Guide green-building, renewable-energy and energy-efficiency measures
  • Engage communities, consultants and government stakeholders on environmental issues
  • Prepare quarterly and annual environmental performance reports
  • Train project teams on safeguards, compliance and sustainability practices
