High Court of Andhra Pradesh Law Clerk Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati has released Notification ROC.No.579/2026-RC dated 24 July 2026 for 4 Law Clerk posts on contract basis to assist the Hon'ble Judges of the High Court. The engagement follows the Guidelines for Appointment of Law Clerks issued vide Gazette Notification No. 88, dated 18 July 2020, and later amendments. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the Court's requirements, so more openings could come up during the process. The engagement is normally for one year from the date of assignment, and can be extended for up to four more years subject to the Chief Justice's approval — though it can also be discontinued earlier without notice if your work is found unsatisfactory.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Law degree from a recognized university — either a 5-year integrated law course after Class 12, or a 3-year law degree after graduation from a recognized university or an affiliated college
• Recency: You must have passed your Law degree within 2 years immediately before the date of this notification
• Final-year students: If you are in the final year of the 5-year integrated law course, or the third year of the 3-year law course, you can also apply — but you must furnish proof of your Law qualification before joining
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India
• If you are already enrolled as an Advocate and get selected, you must suspend your practice before joining and keep it suspended until you complete your Law Clerkship.

Age Limit

• You should not have completed 30 years of age as on 1 July 2026 (the reference date preceding the last date fixed for applications).

Salary

• Selected Law Clerks will get a monthly honorarium of Rs. 35,000.

Selection Process

Your application and documents will be checked against the eligibility criteria in the Guidelines for Appointment of Law Clerks:

1. Document Verification: Your application, along with attested copies of documents relating to your age and academic qualifications, will be scrutinized against the eligibility guidelines.

Incomplete applications, or those received after the due date, without testimonials and certificates, will not be entertained.

The High Court will not be responsible for any postal delays, and no correspondence will be entertained regarding delayed applications, so it is best to send your application well before the deadline.

How to Apply

1. Download the prescribed application proforma and guidelines from the High Court of Andhra Pradesh website.
2. Fill in the form and attach attested copies of documents for proof of your age and academic qualifications.
3. Send your application by Registered Post/Speed Post to the Registrar (Recruitment), High Court of A.P., Amaravati, Nelapadu, Guntur District, A.P. - 522239.
4. Write "Application for the post of Law Clerk" on the postal cover.
5. Make sure your application reaches the Registrar's office on or before 4 August 2026, 5:00 PM. The High Court is not responsible for postal delays.
