Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is hiring a Program Coordinator and Field Coordinator for a project supporting solar-powered rural water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0. The project focuses on keeping solar-based Piped Water Supply Schemes (PWSS) working through better operation and maintenance. Led by Dr. Shailendra Kumar in the Department of Electrical Engineering, this UNICEF–IIT Bhilai work combines project coordination with field support in Chhattisgarh and Assam.

Posts and Disciplines

• Program Coordinator: Based in Chhattisgarh, this role connects the project team, government departments and village institutions. The work covers project-wide coordination and field activities across the project locations.
• Field Coordinator: Based in Assam, this role focuses on visits to selected water supply schemes, local information and practical support for village-level teams. Your field findings will feed into the project's assessment and reporting work.

Post-wise Duties

Program Coordinator

You will organise field assessments, Gram Panchayat campaigns and training activities, while keeping project partners in touch with each other. This includes meetings, follow-ups and resolving issues with government officials, village bodies and field teams.

You will also support data checks, monitoring and dashboard development so that scheme-level information can be checked against field evidence. Progress reports, case studies and analytical summaries will help document what the project delivers.

Field Coordinator

You will visit solar-based water supply schemes to assess how they function and record technical or operational problems. You will work with Gram Panchayats, Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs), Nal Jal Mitra operators and other local contacts to collect and check information.

Your work will include basic guidance on operation and maintenance, support for training materials, and keeping photographs and field records. You will help turn those records into data summaries and field assessment reports.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Different tenures: The Program Coordinator engagement lasts 12 months, while the Field Coordinator engagement lasts 11 months. Each appointment is linked to the project and follows its applicable institute and funding agency rules.
• Joining: You must be ready to join immediately after receiving an offer. Take this into account when planning a move or leaving an existing engagement.
• Performance condition: An appointment may end before its scheduled tenure if performance is unsatisfactory. The notice provides for 30 days of notice before such termination.
• Interview travel: IIT Bhilai will not pay a travel or daily allowance for attending the interview. Account for this if you are asked to attend in person.
• Decision: The selection committee's decision is final. The institute and funding agency rules applicable to the project may be amended during the engagement.
