The Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation Ltd., known as Verka (Milkfed Punjab), has released a notification to fill 172 Deputy Manager posts across 15 disciplines for its milk dairies, units and branch offices located across Punjab and other parts of India. Selected candidates will be placed on probation for 2 years before their appointment is confirmed. Knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric standard is compulsory for all posts. This is a strong opportunity for MBA, engineering, veterinary science and finance graduates looking for a stable cooperative-sector management role. Who Can Apply?

Deputy Manager (Marketing):

• MBA in Marketing or equivalent from a recognised university/institute

Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts):

• CA/ICWA/ICFA from a recognised university/institute, or CA-Inter with 4 years' relevant experience

Deputy Manager (Human Resources):

• MBA in Human Resource Management, or Graduate in Law with a diploma in Personnel Management/IR

Deputy Manager (Purchase/Store):

• MBA with specialisation in Material Management, or B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Production Engineering/Dairy Technology

Deputy Manager (Procurement):

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Dairy Technology from a recognised university

Deputy Manager (Animal Nutrition):

• M.Sc/M.VSc in Animal Nutrition

For the remaining disciplines (Animal Husbandry, Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Electrical, Civil, System & MIS, Seed Multiplication and SCDL), check the official notification for the exact qualification required. Punjabi up to Matric standard is mandatory for every post and must be proven at the time of counselling/document verification.

Application Fee

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Written Test: Objective-type test covering Punjabi Language Proficiency, General Knowledge (Punjab history/culture and current affairs), Practical Computer Proficiency, Mental Ability/Reasoning, and subject knowledge related to your post. Total 90 questions for 90 marks. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
2. Document Verification/Counselling: Your qualification, experience and Punjabi language proof are checked.

The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for Unreserved category candidates and 35% for reserved category candidates. Final merit is calculated as 80% weightage to written test marks plus up to 20 marks for relevant work experience in a Government/Semi-Government/Cooperative/PSU organisation (1 mark per completed 3 months, up to a maximum of 20 marks for 5+ years).

Important Note on Screening

All applicants are treated as provisionally eligible at the time of registration — Verka does not scrutinise your documents before the written test. Only candidates who clear the cutoff marks in the written test have their application forms and certificates checked afterward. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, your candidature can be rejected at this stage or later, even after appearing for the test. Qualifications obtained through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or online mode are accepted only if the programme and institution were recognised by UGC, AICTE or the relevant statutory body for that period.
