Utkal University, Bhubaneswar (Odisha) has released an advertisement (No. CH/ESS/RA/02/2026) for 1 Research Associate (RA) in a time-bound research project under the CSIR-Emeritus Scientist Scheme. The project title is "Development of advanced catalytic systems for the photo-reformation of waste plastics and photo-degradation of organic pollutants" and is led by Prof. Nigamananda Das as the Principal Investigator. The engagement is purely contractual and tied to the project duration. Persons directly selected by CSIR for the award of RA-ship can also apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, or Materials Science from a recognised university or institute.
• Desirable Qualification: Research experience in the relevant area of the project (catalysis, photo-reformation of plastics, or photo-degradation of organic pollutants).
• Persons directly selected by CSIR for the award of RA-ship can also apply for selection and appointment.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 35 years
• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Salary

• Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 58,000 per month
• The fellowship is co-terminus with the CSIR Emeritus Scientist Scheme (project duration: 36 months)
• This is a contractual position with no permanent employment guarantee

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

1. Shortlisting based on essential qualifications and research experience
2. Interview/Interaction conducted by the Principal Investigator and a selection committee

Candidates shortlisted on qualifications and experience will be informed by email for the interview. The University reserves the right to reject any or all applications without giving a reason.
