UPSSSC Forest Guard Recruitment 2026 — 708 Vacancies

UPSSSC has released the official notification for 708 Forest Guard (Van Rakshak) and Wildlife Guard (Vanya Jeev Rakshak) posts in the Forest Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. If you are a 12th pass candidate aged 18 to 40 years and have a valid PET-2025 scorecard, you can apply online from 30 June 2026. Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: Intermediate (10+2) from a recognised board.
• PET Score: You must have appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and hold a valid scorecard.
• Domicile: Reservation benefits apply only to permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh; out-of-state candidates are treated as Unreserved.
• Nationality: Indian citizen.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 40 years (as on 1 July 2026, as per UPSSSC rules)
• Age relaxation: 5 years for SC / ST / OBC of UP, women candidates, and ex-servicemen as per UP Government rules.

Salary

• Pay Level: Pay Level-2 of the 7th Pay Commission

For Male Candidates

• Height (Gen / OBC / SC): 168 cm
• Height (ST): 160 cm
• Chest (Gen / OBC / SC): 84 cm with 5 cm expansion
• Chest (ST): 82 cm with expansion
• Walk / Run: 25 km in 4 hours, carrying a 10 kg weight

For Female Candidates

• Height (Gen / OBC / SC): 152 cm
• Weight: 45 to 58 kg
• Walk / Run: 14 km in 4 hours

Selection Process

1. UPSSSC PET-2025: Only candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and hold a scorecard can apply.
2. Main Written Examination: Offline OMR-based test of 100 objective questions for 100 marks, time 2 hours, with 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
3. Physical Standards Test (PST): Verification of height, chest, and weight as per the standards listed above.
4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Walk / run as per the male and female standards.
5. Document Verification: Original certificates verified at the commission level.
6. Medical Examination: Final medical fitness test before the appointment.

3. Log in with your PET-2025 registration number and password.
4. Fill the application form with your personal, academic, and PET details.

6. Pay the Rs. 25 online process fee through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
7. Submit the form and download a printout for your records.

• Patrol forest beats, wildlife sanctuaries, and reserved areas to prevent illegal felling, hunting, and encroachment.
• Detect, report, and assist in registering forest offences under the Indian Forest Act and Wildlife Protection Act.
• Protect flora, fauna, and biodiversity inside the assigned beat or wildlife area.
• Assist forest officers in fire control, tree planting drives, and afforestation programmes.
• Maintain the beat diary, registers, and reports on a daily basis.
• Support anti-poaching operations and respond to wild animal rescue calls.
• Engage with local villagers on forest rights, fodder, fuelwood, and minor produce rules.
• Follow the orders of the Range Forest Officer and Forester on duty schedules and shift rotation.
