District Programme Officer Muzaffarnagar Anganwadi Karyakartri Recruitment 2026 - 146 Posts

The District Programme Officer, under the Department of Women and Child Development, Muzaffarnagar has released a notification to fill 146 vacant Anganwadi Karyakartri posts spread across the urban and rural blocks of the district. These are honorarium-based community worker posts under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, run from an Anganwadi centre in almost every ward and village. The Anganwadi centre is the foundation of India's early childhood care system — each Karyakartri looks after a group of young children and pregnant or lactating mothers in her own area, so this is one of the most direct ways to serve your own community. Only women residents of the concerned ward or gram sabha are eligible — this is a hyper-local recruitment, so you can only apply against the specific vacancy notified for your own village or ward. There is no written exam; selection is based on a fixed social-category preference order combined with your educational qualification.

Note: The number of vacant posts published in this notification may increase or decrease under special circumstances, as stated by the department.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need at least an Intermediate (12th) pass or equivalent from a recognized board. Your final merit is prepared based on your highest educational qualification — the more you have studied, the stronger your merit position.
  • Gender: Only women candidates can apply for the Anganwadi Karyakartri post.
  • Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of the ward or gram sabha where the vacant post is located. If no eligible woman candidate from a preference category is available in that gram sabha or ward, residents of the neighbouring Nyaya Panchayat become eligible to apply.
  • Marks obtained in grading or CGPA systems will be converted to a percentage using the formula approved by your board or university.
  • If any fact, data, or educational mark in your application is later found to be incorrect or forged, your candidature will be cancelled and you alone will be responsible — no correction request will be entertained through any offline route.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 July 2026.
  • The date of birth recorded in your High School marksheet and certificate will be treated as final for age calculation — no other document will be accepted for age proof.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this recruitment. Selection follows a fixed preference order among eligible women candidates from the same ward or gram sabha:

  1. Widow (BPL): Widowed candidates from Below Poverty Line families get first preference.
  2. Divorced or Deserted (BPL): Legally divorced or deserted BPL candidates.
  3. General (BPL): Other Below Poverty Line candidates.
  4. Widow (APL): Widowed candidates from Above Poverty Line families.
  5. Divorced or Deserted (APL): Legally divorced or deserted APL candidates.
  6. General (APL): Other Above Poverty Line candidates.

Within each preference category, candidates are ranked by their highest educational qualification. Widowhood must be supported by a death certificate from the Gram Panchayat Officer or municipal body, and divorce/desertion status must be supported by a legal order from the High Court. Your residence certificate, caste certificate and income certificate will be checked before final selection, and only certificates issued online with a digital signature from the Tehsil will be accepted for verification.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the official portal at upanganwadibharti.in.
  2. Select the Muzaffarnagar district recruitment notice and choose the vacancy notified for your ward or gram sabha.
  3. Fill in the online application form with your personal, educational and category details.
  4. Upload your residence, caste and income certificates along with a recent photograph.
