Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board (UKMSSB) has issued Advertisement No. UKMSSB/Exam/16/2025-26/448 dated 03 June 2026. This recruitment covers Nursing Officer female and male posts for diploma and degree holders in Group C under the state health department. The selection is through an objective written exam, followed by document checking for shortlisted candidates.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Nursing degree route: You need B.Sc Nursing (Hons.), regular B.Sc Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing from an institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.
• Nursing diploma route: You can also apply with General Nursing and Midwifery / Psychiatry diploma from a recognised institution.
• Registration: You must have valid registration with the Uttarakhand / Indian Nursing and Midwives Council by the last date.
• Hindi knowledge: Working knowledge of Hindi is required.
• Preferred qualification: Territorial Army service of at least 2 years or NCC B/C certificate is listed as a preferential qualification.

Domicile and Reservation

• Domicile: Reservation benefits require a valid Uttarakhand domicile or category certificate as applicable.
• Certificate validity: OBC certificates must follow the Uttarakhand government rules and should be valid for the application period.
• PwD category: The notice mentions reservation benefit for OL (One Leg Affected) candidates where applicable.

Age Limit

• You must be between 21 and 42 years old as on 01 July 2025.

Selection Process

UKMSSB will select Nursing Officers through a written exam and document checking. The written exam is expected in November-December 2026, as mentioned in the notice.

Exam cities: The notice asks applicants to choose two cities from Dehradun, Srinagar, Haldwani and Almora. UKMSSB may change the exam centre depending on the number of applicants.

1. Objective Written Exam: Total 200 marks. One paper carries 100 marks from nursing subjects, and the second paper carries 100 marks from General Hindi, General Knowledge and General Studies.
2. Qualifying Marks: General, OBC and EWS need 45%. SC and ST need 35%.
3. Negative Marking: Each correct answer gives 1 mark, and each wrong answer cuts 1/4 mark.
4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must show original certificates for qualification, registration, category and other claims.

7. Download and keep a copy of the submitted application form.
