A&N Administration is hiring for 1535 Matric Level Group C posts across many departments in the Union Territory. A&N Matric Level Recruitment 2026 - 1535 Posts

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has released Advertisement No. 01/ML/2026 for Common Matric Level Examination 2026. This recruitment covers Group C non-ministerial posts such as MTS, drivers, surveyor, draughtsman, forest guard, ward attendant, technician, trades and support staff. The biggest point to note is that one common Tablet Based Test will be used for shortlisting, while skill, trade or physical tests will apply only to posts that need them.

Who Can Apply?

Basic Qualification

• Minimum qualification: You need Matriculation/10th pass for these Matric Level posts.
• Post-wise rules: Some posts also need a trade certificate, driving licence, technical skill, physical standard or work-specific qualification as listed in Annexure-I and the relevant recruitment rules.
• Local reservation: ST, OBC and EWS reservation benefits are linked to the rules notified for A&N Islands.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Upper age: Up to 33 years for male Group C candidates and up to 38 years for female Group C candidates, as applicable by post.
• Age date: Age is counted as on the closing date, 28 June 2026.
• Relaxation: ST gets 5 years, OBC gets 3 years, PwBD gets 10/13/15 years based on category, and Ex-Servicemen get service deduction plus 3 years for Group C posts.

Salary

• Pay Level 1: Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month
• Pay Level 2: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month
• Pay Level 4: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month
• Pay Level 5: Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month
• Allowances: DA, HRA and other allowances will apply as per government rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 100
• Female / ST / PwBD: No fee
• Payment mode: Net banking, card, UPI or QR code payment through the online portal.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through merit in the Tablet Based Test and post preference, followed by qualifying checks where needed.

1. Tablet Based Test: Online exam for 150 marks with negative marking.
2. Skill / Trade / Physical Test: Only for posts where the recruitment rules require it. This stage is qualifying in nature.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must upload and verify original certificates.
4. Final Merit: Final selection is based on TBT performance, post preference, reservation rules and qualifying standards.

6. Pay the fee online if it applies to your category and submit before 28 June 2026.

Application Notes

Apply only online; applications sent by post, by hand or by email will not be accepted. You do not need to upload all certificates at the first application stage, but your details must match your documents because verification happens after the TBT.

• Email and mobile: Keep your registered email ID and mobile number active during the full recruitment process.
• Post preference: Choose your post preferences carefully because later changes may not be allowed.
• Photo and signature: Upload a clear photograph and signature in the format asked by the portal.
• Reserved category proof: ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen claims must be supported by valid certificates.

Exam Centres and Document Check

The TBT online exam will be held at centres in South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar Districts. You can give your preferred zone in the online form, but the final centre will be decided by the Administration.

After the exam, shortlisted candidates must upload or produce original certificates for age, education, category, disability, ex-servicemen status and post-wise qualification. If your documents do not support the information in your form, your candidature can be cancelled at that stage.
