Selection Process

The SCDRC Chandigarh selection process has written test, stenography test, merit preparation, and document verification. The final merit list will be prepared category-wise from applicants who qualify both the written test and the stenography test.

1. Written Test: Objective OMR test of 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours.
2. Shortlisting for Stenography Test: Applicants equal to 15 times the number of posts in each category will be shortlisted.
3. English Stenography Test: Dictation for 10 minutes at 80 wpm and transcription for 50 minutes on computer.
4. Document Verification: After the written test, applicants up to 3 times the number of vacancies in each category may be called for document verification.
5. Final Merit: Final merit is based on written test marks plus passing the shorthand test.
