Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) Senior Resident (Onco-Anaesthesia) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a Grant-in-Aid Institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is filling 2 Senior Resident posts in Onco-Anaesthesia at its Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCH&RC) in New Chandigarh, Punjab. These are one-year contract posts, and TMC will give preference to candidates willing to be placed at its New Chandigarh centre. There is no written exam — TMC is conducting a walk-in interview instead, so if you meet the qualification criteria, you can walk in directly with your documents on any working day. Keep in mind that once appointed, you may later be rotated to any TMC unit — including Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai, ACTREC Navi Mumbai, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital Sangrur, HBCH&RC Mullanpur, HBCH&RC Visakhapatnam, Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Centre (BHU) Varanasi, or BBCI Guwahati — based on where the organisation needs you.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MD (Anaesthesiology) or an equivalent postgraduate degree recognised by the NMC/MCI.
• Nationality: You must be an Indian National.
• If you are currently working in a Central/State Government, Autonomous Body, Semi-Government Organisation, or PSU, you must get permission from your Head of Organisation to appear for the interview (through proper channel).

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 40 years, reckoned as on the date of your walk-in interview.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC candidates get 3 years, and PwD candidates get 10 years (plus an additional 5 years for SC/ST-PwD and 3 years for OBC-PwD).
• Ex-servicemen: Length of service in the armed forces plus 3 years, with additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC ex-servicemen as per Government of India rules.
• TMC employees and those working with TMC on a temporary/project/contract basis get a maximum relaxation of 5 years.
• Age relaxation does not apply to reserved category candidates if the post is notified for unreserved category only.

Salary

• Senior Resident (with MD/DNB/MS): Rs. 1,33,623 per month (gross consolidated pay).
• Specialist Senior Resident (with DM/DrNB/MCh): Rs. 1,45,530 per month (gross consolidated pay).
• Your final salary will depend on your relevant work experience after completing your essential qualification.
• TMC may also provide sharing accommodation on a chargeable basis, subject to availability.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this post. TMC is directly conducting a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Attend in person at the venue with all required documents — no prior registration or online application is needed.
2. Document Verification: Your resume, educational certificates, experience certificates, and identity documents are checked before the interview.
3. Final Selection: TMC reserves the right to fix a minimum eligibility benchmark and restrict the number of candidates interviewed based on vacancies and academic performance. The decision of the Director, HBCH&RC, Punjab is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained on this.

• Provide anaesthesia care for cancer surgery patients, including pre-operative assessment and post-operative pain management
• Manage critical care and pain relief for oncology patients under the Onco-Anaesthesia unit
• Assist senior consultants during major and complex cancer surgeries
• Monitor patients during surgery and manage anaesthesia-related complications
• Maintain accurate anaesthesia records and patient charts
• Participate in academic activities, case discussions, and training sessions at the department
• Coordinate with surgical, oncology, and critical care teams for patient safety
