The Chairman/Principal District Judge, Tenkasi District Legal Services Authority has released a notification to enroll Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) to assist in delivering legal aid services across the district. A wide range of people can apply — teachers (including retired teachers), retired government employees, senior citizens, social work students, Anganwadi workers, law college students (until they enroll as advocates), doctors, NGO representatives and members of women's self-help groups. This role does not require a written exam, and is suited to socially-minded individuals who want to contribute to legal aid work in their community while earning a daily honorarium.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have passed 10th standard (SSLC) and should have a good understanding of legal and social matters.
  • Preferred: Candidates who can type in English and Tamil on a computer will be given preference.
  • Eligible categories: Teachers (including retired teachers), retired government employees and senior citizens, students pursuing higher studies in social work, Anganwadi workers, students and law college students (until they register as advocates), non-political NGO representatives and community leaders, members of women's groups and self-help groups, doctors, and any other person considered suitable by the District/Taluk Legal Services Committee.

Salary

  • Selected Para Legal Volunteers will get an honorarium of Rs. 750 per day of actual duty performed.
  • No fixed salary, consolidated pay or daily wage is payable — this is purely a volunteer engagement and is not treated as permanent employment.
