Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You must have passed at least a +3 (graduation) examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Computer Course: You also need a Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) from a recognized institute.
- Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and clear an Odia test equivalent to M.E. standard.
- Typing Speed (Junior Typist): Minimum 40 words per minute in typewriting.
- Shorthand and Typing (Stenographer Grade-III): Minimum 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting.
- Character and Health: You should be of good character, sound health and free from any bodily infirmity.
- Marital Status: You should not have more than one spouse living, if married.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on the last date for receipt of applications (31 August 2026).
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit for reserved category candidates will be relaxed as per relevant Odisha government rules.
Salary
- Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and Junior Typist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month at Pay Level 4.
- Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month at Pay Level 7.
- You will also get D.A. and other allowances as admissible to Odisha state government employees from time to time.

- All Categories (UR/SC/ST/SEBC): No examination fee is required to be paid by any candidate.
Selection Process
Selection happens through a written exam followed by skill tests. The exact stages differ slightly by post:
- Written Exam: For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, this covers English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour) and General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour). For Junior Typist and Stenographer Grade-III, English is qualifying in nature (100 marks, 2 hours).
- Type Test / Shorthand Test: Junior Typist candidates take a computer type test (50 marks), reproducing a 400-word passage in 10 minutes. Stenographer Grade-III candidates take a combined shorthand and type test (50 marks) - dictation of 400 words in 5 minutes, reproduced through typing in 10 minutes.
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour, covering paragraph formatting, tables, file handling, browsing, email and basic accounting software.
- Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and 35 marks for Junior Typist and Stenographer Grade-III, testing alertness, outlook and overall suitability.
The date of the written examination will be intimated to eligible candidates separately.
