The Secretariat Security Force (SSF), under the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Ministry of Home Affairs, is hiring 10 Constables in two trades — Barber (3 posts) and Washerman (7 posts). These are Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts on a temporary basis, likely to become permanent. Your salary will be in Pay Level 2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200) under the 7th CPC. SSF Constable (Barber & Washerman) Recruitment 2025 — 10 Posts

The Secretariat Security Force, which works under the administrative control of ITBP and is responsible for the security of government buildings and VIP areas in New Delhi, has released this recruitment notification for 10 Constable vacancies. This is a great opportunity for male Indian citizens who have passed Class 10 and hold a trade certificate in barbering or washing. Who Can Apply?

Constable (Barber)

• Matriculation pass (Class 10) or equivalent from a recognised board
• Must have passed a Trade Test in the barber profession

Constable (Washerman)

• Matriculation pass (Class 10) or equivalent from a recognised board
• Must have passed a Trade Test in the washerman profession

Important: Only male Indian citizens can apply. Qualification is checked as on the closing date, i.e., 28 April 2026.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 23 years
• Age as on: 28 April 2026 (closing date)
• You should be born not earlier than 29 April 2003 and not later than 28 April 2008

Age Relaxation

• SC: 5 years (up to 28 years)
• OBC (NCL): 3 years (up to 26 years)
• Ex-Servicemen (General): 3 years after deduction of military service
• Ex-Servicemen (OBC): 6 years (3+3) after deduction of military service
• Ex-Servicemen (SC): 8 years (3+5) after deduction of military service
• Departmental Candidates: UR up to 40 years, OBC (NCL) up to 43 years, SC up to 45 years

Salary

• Pay Scale: Level 2 in the Pay Matrix (7th CPC)
• Basic Pay Range: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month
• Allowances: Dearness Allowance, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, and other allowances as per Central Government rules
• Pension: New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (NPS)

• North-Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura): 162.5 cm

Medical Standards

• Eyesight: 6/6 in both eyes without glasses or correction
• No knock-knees, flat foot, varicose veins, squint, or colour blindness
• Weight: Proportionate to height and age

Application Fee

• General (UR) and OBC: Rs. 100 (pay online through the ITBP recruitment portal)
• SC and Ex-Servicemen: No fee (exempted)

Selection Process

The selection has 4 phases:

1. Phase I — Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This is qualifying only (no marks). You need to clear:
   • 1.6 km race in 7 minutes 30 seconds
   • Long Jump: 11 feet (3 chances)
   • High Jump: 3.5 feet (3 chances)
   Note: PET is not held for Ex-Servicemen.
2. Phase I — Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, chest, and weight measurements after PET
3. Phase II — Written Examination (50 marks): Objective type MCQs, OMR/CBT format, 1 hour duration. No negative marking.
   • General Awareness/GK: 15 questions, 15 marks
   • Elementary Mathematics: 10 questions, 10 marks
   • Analytical Aptitude: 15 questions, 15 marks
   • English/Hindi: 10 questions, 10 marks
   Cut-off: UR & Ex-Servicemen — 18 marks; SC & OBC — 17 marks
4. Phase III — Trade Test (50 marks, qualifying): Practical trade-specific test. Qualifying marks: 50%. For Barber: hair cutting (20), body/head massage (15), tools knowledge (15). For Washerman: washing (15), ironing (10), dry-cleaning knowledge (10), detergents knowledge (15).
5. Phase IV — Document Verification & Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
