Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a Central Armed Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released Advertisement No. 524/RC/SSB/Combined Advt./CT to SI (Non-GD)/2025 for filling 51 Sub Inspector posts. These are Group 'B' Non-Gazetted (Combatised) positions spread across three disciplines: Staff Nurse (10 posts), Pioneer (21 posts), and Communication (20 posts). These are temporary posts but are likely to continue. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India or outside Indian territory and will be governed by SSB Act and Rules.

Who Can Apply?

For Sub Inspector (Staff Nurse):

• Education: You need to have passed 12th class from a recognised Board plus a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (3 or 3.5 years depending on when you qualified).
• Registration: You must be registered with the Central Nursing Council or State Nursing Council as a General Nurse and Midwife.
• Diploma details: If you qualified before 2008, a 3-year diploma is accepted. If qualified between 2008 and 2015-16, a 3.5-year diploma is needed. If qualified after 2015-16, a 3-year diploma with internship is required.

For Sub Inspector (Pioneer):

• Education: You need a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institute.

For Sub Inspector (Communication):

• Education: You need a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, or Information Technology Engineering. Alternatively, a Science degree with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised university is also accepted.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years (as on 20 April 2026, the closing date of application).
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 35 years).
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (up to 33 years).
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per government rules.
• Government Servants: Relaxation up to 5 years as per existing instructions.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month under Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• Grade Pay: Rs. 4,200 (pre-7th CPC equivalent).
• You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Ration Money Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other benefits as per Central Government rules.
• Candidates will be covered under NPS or UPS as applicable.

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates (General/OBC/SC):

• Height: 170 cm
• Chest: 80 cm (unexpanded) / 85 cm (expanded)

For Male Candidates (ST):

• Height: 162.5 cm
• Chest: 76 cm (unexpanded) / 81 cm (expanded)

For Female Candidates (General/OBC/SC):

• Height: 157 cm

For Female Candidates (ST):

• Height: 150 cm

Note: Physical standards are checked during PST. Staff Nurse candidates are exempt from PET but must meet PST requirements.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / Women: No fee

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 5 stages:

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running and other physical activities to test your fitness. Staff Nurse candidates are exempt from PET.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST): Your height and chest measurements will be checked against the minimum standards for your category.
3. Written Examination (CBT): A Computer Based Test worth 150 marks with a duration of 3 hours. The exam will cover General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English/Hindi Language along with subject-specific questions for your post.
4. Document Verification: All your original certificates and documents will be verified.
5. Medical Examination (DME/RME): Detailed Medical Examination followed by Review Medical Examination if needed.
