SINP, a premier grant-in-aid research institute under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), has released Advertisement No. SINP/Estt./Advt./11/2026 dated 31 July 2026 to fill 62 posts across three categories — Scientific, Technical, and Administrative & Auxiliary (including Canteen). Most posts are on Direct Recruitment basis, except the Assistant Administrative Officer-I post, which is filled through deputation. Freshers with the right diploma or ITI certificate, as well as experienced professionals in electronics, computer hardware and lab instrumentation, can all find a matching post here. Most posts are based at the SINP campus in Bidhannagar, Kolkata, though one Scientist 'C' post also involves duty at the FRENA facility and the Indus-2 synchrotron beamline at RRCAT, Indore.

Who Can Apply?

Scientific Category (Scientist 'C' - Level 10, Rs. 56,100/month):

• Qualification: M.Sc in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics/Photonics or Electronics from a recognised university.
• Experience: Hands-on experience in electron microscopy, laser systems, or ion beam accelerators, depending on the specialisation you apply for.

Technical Category (Scientific Assistant 'B' - Level 6, Technician 'B' - Level 3):

• Qualification: Diploma in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering for Scientific Assistant 'B'; Higher Secondary (HSC) or Secondary (SSC) pass with ITI (minimum 1 year) for Technician 'B'.
• Experience: 2-3 years of relevant hands-on experience (welding, CNC machining, electrical maintenance, computer hardware, etc. depending on the trade).

Administrative & Auxiliary Category:

• Lower Division Clerk: Graduate with at least 50% marks, a computer certificate, and good typing/communication skills.
• Security Guard 'A': SSC pass with physical fitness as per government norms; ex-servicemen with 15+ years of service are preferred.
• Work Assistant 'A': SSC pass with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Halwai-cum-Cook: 10th pass with a catering certificate/diploma and 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in a government department.
• Assistant Administrative Officer-I (Deputation): Officers holding an analogous post in DAE/aided institutions, or with 3 years of regular service in Pay Level 6.

Age Limit

• Age limits vary by post: 25 years for Technician 'B' and Halwai-cum-Cook, 27 years for Lower Division Clerk, Security Guard 'A' and Work Assistant 'A', 30 years for Scientific Assistant 'B', and 33 years for Scientist 'C'.
• Age will be calculated as on the closing date of the online application (15 September 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC gets 3 years, PwBD gets 10-15 years, and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation equal to their military service plus 3 years, as per government rules.

Salary

• Scientist 'C': Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month (Level 10)
• Assistant Administrative Officer-I: Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month (Level 7)
• Scientific Assistant 'B': Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month (Level 6)
• Technician 'B' and Halwai-cum-Cook: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Level 3)
• Lower Division Clerk: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Level 2)
• Security Guard 'A' and Work Assistant 'A': Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month (Level 1)
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Institute rules.

• Women, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Deputation candidates: No fee

Selection Process

Selection stages differ by post:

1. Scientist 'C': Interview only (a qualifying written test may also be held). Final merit is based on interview marks.
2. Scientific Assistant 'B' and Technician 'B': Qualifying Written Test followed by a Trade Test. Final merit is based on Trade Test marks only.
3. Assistant Administrative Officer-I: Written exam plus review of APARs (deputation candidates).
4. Lower Division Clerk: Written Test followed by a qualifying Typing Skill Test. Final merit is based on Written Test marks.
5. Security Guard 'A': Qualifying Physical Fitness Test followed by a Written Test. Final merit is based on Written Test marks.
6. Work Assistant 'A': One MCQ-based Written Test. Merit is based on Written Test marks.
7. Halwai-cum-Cook: Qualifying Written Test followed by a Cooking Skill Test. Final merit is based on Skill Test marks.
