South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur Division has released a notification (No. P/Bilaspur/Bharti/Act Apprentice/2026-27/E-176508 dated 12-05-2026) for engagement of 1191 Trade Apprentices across 18 designated trades for the year 2026-27. The apprenticeship period is for 1 year, and selected candidates will be paid stipend as per the rules of the Government of Chhattisgarh. There is no written exam — selection is based on the average of marks scored in Matriculation (10th) and ITI, giving equal weightage to both.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) under 10+2 system or its equivalent, AND must have passed ITI course in the relevant trade from a recognised institution.
• Important: Candidates must fill their 10th and ITI marks on the portal in the qualification section, otherwise the application will be automatically rejected. No higher qualification should be filled.

Age Limit

• You must have completed 15 years of age and not completed 24 years of age as on 11 June 2026.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years
  • OBC candidates: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen and PWD candidates: 10 years
• Age relaxation is subject to submission of latest caste certificate.
• Date of Birth Range (UR): 11-06-2002 to 11-06-2011

Stipend

• Selected candidates will be paid stipend during training as per the rules of the State Government of Chhattisgarh.
• The apprenticeship is for a period of 1 year for each trade.
• Training will be terminated after the completion of the apprenticeship period.

Application Fee

No application fee is mentioned in the notification. The online application is to be submitted free of cost on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Please verify on the portal at the time of application.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit only:

1. Merit List Preparation: Taking the average of the percentage marks obtained in Matriculation (10th) with minimum 50% aggregate marks AND ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.
2. Document Verification: Selected candidates will be advised to bring required documents.
3. Medical Examination: Selected candidates may be advised to bring medical certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed proforma. The medical certificate should be signed by a Government authorised Doctor (Gazetted), not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon of Central/State Hospital.
4. Apprenticeship Contract: Selected candidates (or their guardians if minor) must enter into a contract of apprenticeship with the employer.

Note: Offer of employment after training is not obligatory on the part of the employer.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official Apprenticeship India portal at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
2. Register yourself on the portal if not already registered.
3. Fill in the online application form.
4. Fill in 10th and ITI marks correctly in the qualification section (do not fill any higher qualification).
5. Upload soft/scanned copy of recent passport size colour photograph, scanned signature and necessary educational/technical qualification documents.
6. If you belong to SC/ST/OBC community, upload the recent caste certificate issued by competent authority.
7. Submit the application online before 11 June 2026 (23:59 hrs).
8. No physical copy of the application is required to be sent.

• Maintain attendance, discipline and safety standards during training
• Complete all practical assignments and skill assessments on time
• Follow railway rules and regulations for trainees and apprentices
• Appear for the All India Trade Test (AITT) conducted at the end of training
