Sainik School Gopalganj (Bihar), functioning under the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, has invited applications for 5 contractual positions across teaching, administrative, medical and support roles. This is a good chance for candidates living in or around Gopalganj district who want to work in a reputed residential school run by the Defence Ministry. All posts are on contractual basis with consolidated monthly pay. Freshers with the right qualifications can apply for most of these posts.

Who Can Apply?

PGT (Chemistry) - Rs 57,000/month

• Qualification: You need a 2-year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. from Regional College of Education (NCERT) in Chemistry, OR a Master's Degree with at least 50% marks in Chemistry from a recognised university.
• Additional: You must also have a B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
• Language: You should be able to teach in both English and Hindi medium.
• Desirable: Teaching experience in Public Schools, knowledge of computer applications, and proficiency in games/sports or extra-curricular activities.

Counsellor - Rs 42,000/month

• Qualification: You need a Graduate or Post Graduate degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Psychology, or a degree in Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Applied Psychology, or a Certificate/Diploma in Therapy or Parenting from a recognised institution.
• Additional: You must also have a One-year Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from a recognised university.
• Desirable: Knowledge of psychological therapies and assessments, ADHD, behavioural issues, building emotional intelligence, and adolescence education. Experienced candidates get preference.

Band Master - Rs 28,000/month

• Qualification: You need a Potential Band Master/Band Major/Drum Major course from AEC Training and Centre, Pachmarhi, or equivalent Naval and Air Force courses.
• Desirable: Experience in the pipe band.

Nursing Sister (Female Only) - Rs 28,500/month

• Qualification: You need a Nursing Degree or Diploma (minimum 3 years) from a recognised university or institution.
• Gender: Only female candidates are eligible for this post.
• Desirable: English communication skills, higher qualifications, job experience, and work experience in a residential school.

Upper Division Clerk (UDC) - Rs 28,000/month

• Qualification: You need to be a Graduate with at least 2 years of office experience in a Government or Commercial Organisation.
• Computer: You must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
• Typing: You need a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute in English and 35 words per minute in Hindi.
• Language: Ability to correspond in English is required.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Shorthand will be an additional qualification.

Age Limit

• PGT (Chemistry): 21 to 40 years as on 01 July 2026
• Counsellor: 24 to 50 years as on 01 August 2026
• Band Master: 18 to 50 years as on 01 July 2025
• Nursing Sister: 18 to 50 years as on 01 September 2026
• UDC: 18 to 50 years as on 01 August 2026
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Central Government rules for reserved categories.

Salary

• PGT (Chemistry): Rs 57,000 per month (consolidated)
• Counsellor: Rs 42,000 per month (consolidated)
• Band Master: Rs 28,000 per month (consolidated)
• Nursing Sister: Rs 28,500 per month (consolidated)
• UDC: Rs 28,000 per month (consolidated)
• All salaries are consolidated amounts. Since these are contractual positions, the pay is fixed without additional DA/HRA allowances.

Selection Process (Merit Based)

Selection for all posts will be done purely on a merit basis:

1. Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the recruitment process based on their qualifications and experience.
2. Recruitment Process: The exact selection method (interview, skill test, etc.) will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.
3. Document Verification: You will need to bring all original certificates and testimonials.

• Manage office correspondence, file processing and record-keeping for the school administration

• Assist in organising sports events, NCC activities and other extra-curricular programmes
• Follow Sainik Schools Society rules and participate in school functions and duties as assigned
