Rajasthan High Court (RHC) Stenographer Recruitment 2026 - 163 Posts

Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur has released a combined competitive examination notification (Advertisement No. 1032/2026 dated 17 July 2026) for 163 Stenographer posts under the Rajasthan District Courts Ministerial Establishment Rules, 1986. Vacancies are spread across District Courts and District Legal Services Authorities (including Permanent Lok Adalats) in TSP and Non-TSP areas of Rajasthan. Only 12th pass candidates are needed — no graduation degree required — which makes this a great opportunity for young stenography and typing talent from Rajasthan.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need to have passed the Senior Secondary (12th) Examination in Arts, Science, or Commerce from the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination.
  • Language: You must have a good working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script, and of Rajasthani dialects.
  • Computer Certificate: You need a DOEACC 'O' level or higher certificate, a COPA/DPCS certificate, a Diploma in Computer Science/Application, RSCIT certificate, or 12th with Computer Science as a subject (or any equivalent/higher qualification).
  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan (with an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India).

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 01 January 2027.
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS candidates and women candidates get 5 years relaxation. Reservists (defence personnel transferred to reserve) can apply up to 50 years. Ex-servicemen get 15 years relaxation (maximum age 50).
  • PwBD: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get an additional 5 years relaxation, over and above the relaxation for their category.
  • There is no age limit for widows and divorced women.

Salary

  • You will get a fixed pay of Rs. 23,700 per month during the 2-year probation period as a Probationer Trainee.
  • After successfully completing probation, your pay moves to Pay Matrix Level L-10, which is Rs. 33,800 to Rs. 1,06,700 per month.
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Rajasthan Government rules.

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / MBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Rajasthan domicile: Rs. 600

  • Payment mode: Online only, through e-Mitra Kiosk/CSC, Net-Banking, or Debit/Credit Card.

Selection Process

Your selection will be done in these stages:

  1. Shorthand/Stenography Test: Group A (English) — dictation at 80 words per minute for 6 minutes, followed by transcription and typing on computer in 50 minutes, for 100 marks. Group B (Hindi) — dictation at 70 words per minute for 6 minutes, followed by transcription and typing in 50 minutes, for 100 marks. You must clear the group you apply for.
  2. Computer Test (Group C, compulsory for everyone): Speed Test (10 minutes, 50 marks) and Efficiency Test (10 minutes, 50 marks). You need at least 20 marks (SC/ST/PwBD) or 22.5 marks (all others) in each paper to qualify.
  3. Interview: No marks are given here — it only checks that you can read back your own shorthand notes.

Your final selection depends on the total aggregate marks from the shorthand and computer tests, ranked institute-wise — District Courts posts are filled first, then District Legal Services Authority posts.

Exam Pattern

The stenography test has two language groups — you choose one based on the post you apply for.

Group A - English Shorthand
