If you are a fresh law graduate or postgraduate in law, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 21 July 2026. Rajasthan High Court Legal Researcher Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Rajasthan High Court has released an abridged advertisement (RHC/Exam Cell/LR/2026/1011 dated 6 July 2026) inviting online applications for Legal Researcher under its Scheme for Engaging Legal Researcher. The selected candidate will be attached with a specific Hon'ble Judge to assist in judicial and administrative work such as case research, drafting and note-taking. There is no written exam for this post — selection is based on your academic record and a personal interview. This is a great opportunity for fresh law graduates who want direct courtroom exposure and the chance to work closely with a High Court judge. This position is part of a wider scheme under which the Rajasthan government has sanctioned 102 Legal Researcher posts on a fixed honorarium basis across the High Court — two attached with each Hon'ble Judge and four with the Hon'ble Chief Justice — so similar vacancies keep opening up through the year as judges are assigned.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must be a fresh law graduate or postgraduate in law from a university, college or institution established by law in India.
  • Computer Knowledge: You must have basic knowledge of computers.
  • Other conditions: You must not be a practicing advocate, and you must not be engaged or appointed anywhere else on an honorarium or payment basis.
  • Character: You need a certificate of integrity and good moral character from two responsible persons at the time of application.
  • Disqualification: You cannot apply if you have more than one living spouse, or if you are involved in any criminal case, whether convicted or on trial.

Age Limit

  • Your age should not be more than 33 years as on 1 January 2026 (the 1st January preceding the last date of application).
  • You must be a citizen of India.

Salary

  • You will get a fixed honorarium of Rs. 50,000 per month, with no dearness allowance or other perquisites.
  • If you are absent without authorization, or take leave beyond the permitted period, your honorarium will be reduced proportionately.
  • The engagement is for one year initially, extendable up to four more years or till the retirement of the concerned judge, whichever is earlier — it does not entitle you to any regular appointment.
  • You get one casual leave after completing each calendar month of service, and any un-availed casual leave accumulates up to the calendar year. The Hon'ble Judge you are attached with is the competent authority to sanction your leave.

Note: The assignment can be ended early without notice if the concerned judge recommends this to the Hon'ble Chief Justice. If you wish to leave the assignment early, you must give three months' notice, or notice equal to your remaining term, whichever is less.

Application Fee

  • Examination fee: Rs. 100, payable online through net banking, debit card or credit card for this recruitment cycle.
  • Fee payment window: 7 July 2026 (1:00 PM) to 22 July 2026 (5:00 PM).
  • Your application is only complete once your Unique Application Number is generated after the fee is paid.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this post. Your selection happens in these steps:

  1. Shortlisting: Your application is reviewed by the concerned Hon'ble Judge, and shortlisting may be done based on your academic record and extracurricular achievements.
  2. Interview: You will be interviewed by the Hon'ble Chief Justice or the concerned Hon'ble Judge to assess your suitability. Bring all your original documents to the interview.

Once selected, you will work directly under the concerned judge's supervision, assisting in judicial work such as researching case law and preparing case notes, as well as some administrative tasks. The role gives you a rare, close-up view of how the higher judiciary functions, which is valuable experience if you plan to build a career in litigation or judicial services.

Note: No TA/DA is paid to candidates for appearing in the interview.
