PU Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Pondicherry University (PU) is recruiting Guest Faculty for its Community College at Lawspet for the 2026-27 academic year. The teaching need spans science, media, commerce, computing and physical education, giving you a choice of disciplines within one college-level walk-in drive. This is a temporary academic-year engagement, and selected teachers should be ready to join without a long notice period.

Posts and Disciplines

• Biochemistry: Teach the subject through the relevant Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Microbiology background recognised under UGC norms.
• Visual Communication: Guide learners through the theory and practical work attached to visual-media courses.
• Commerce: Support teaching in Accounts and Finance, Taxation or Marketing Management, depending on your specialisation.
• Physical Education and Yoga: Lead physical-education, sports and yoga learning activities for Community College students.
• Computer Science: Handle classroom and laboratory teaching for the college's computing courses.

Post-wise Duties

Biochemistry

You will teach assigned classes, run relevant practical sessions and watch student progress in the science classroom and laboratory. You will also support exam and academic work handled by the department.

Visual Communication

You will combine classroom explanation with practice-based media learning, keep students engaged with course activities and help with academic records and examinations.

Commerce

You will teach the allotted commerce specialisation and monitor the class's academic performance. Departmental, examination and college work form part of the role.

Physical Education and Yoga

You will organise teaching and practical sessions connected with physical education, sport and yoga, while tracking participation and learning outcomes.

Computer Science

You will handle computing classes and practical laboratory work, oversee student activity in the lab and assist with academic and examination tasks.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Temporary engagement: The appointment is limited to the 2026-27 academic year.
• College presence: Guest Faculty must be present on all working days during the college's stated working hours.
• Payment condition: Monthly payment depends on completing the teaching, practical, student-support and college duties attached to the role.
• Preference: PhD holders with the recognised eligibility test, teaching experience and familiarity with Community Colleges receive preference.
• Joining: Selected teachers may need to join immediately after the college completes its process.

This is a walk-in process at the Principal's Chamber, Pondicherry University Community College, Lawspet. Reach the venue at least one hour before your discipline's stated interview time so certificate checking and other formalities can be completed.

You may email soft copies to the relevant Head in charge two days before your interview and mark a copy to principal.pucc@pondiuni.ac.in. Carry your originals and the requested hard-copy sets to the venue; emailing documents does not replace appearing for the walk-in.
