PHHC Driver Recruitment 2026: Overview

Punjab and Haryana High Court is running direct recruitment for Driver posts on its establishment at Chandigarh through Employment Notice No. 04/DRV/HC/2026. This is a court-support role where official travel can be connected with both judicial and administrative work, making safe driving, dependable attendance and discretion important parts of the job. The notice makes one operational point especially clear: duty can continue beyond normal office hours and may fall at odd hours, so the role suits someone who can handle a changing schedule.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Working hours: Your duty may extend beyond the usual office day and can include odd-hour assignments when the Court's work needs it.
  • Vacancy position: The notified requirement may rise or fall by the time the merit list is prepared. The High Court will decide how many names are finally recommended according to the vacancies then available.
  • Trial before appointment: A person proposed for appointment must first complete a trial period fixed by the High Court. During this trial, pay follows the daily-wage rates approved by the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, and appointment is considered only after the Court finds the trial satisfactory.
  • Reserved-category benefit: SC, ST and BC benefits apply only when the certificate comes from the competent authority and the applicant is a domicile or permanent resident of Punjab, Haryana or U.T. Chandigarh. A reserved-category applicant from another state is considered in the General category.
  • BC condition: A BC applicant must meet the applicable non-creamy-layer rule and produce a current certificate. The High Court may also ask for the related undertaking during testimonials checking.
  • Ex-servicemen condition: The reservation and relaxation are for former service personnel themselves, not their dependants. The applicant must provide a self-attested complete copy of the discharge book when called for checking.
  • Candidature: Being placed in the selection list does not by itself create a right to appointment. The Court can check the original claims and supporting records before taking a final decision.

Application Submission Notes

Use the post-specific PHHC Driver portal and register with a mobile number and email address that will remain active throughout the recruitment. The portal sends the registration number by SMS or email; check the spam folder if it does not arrive in the inbox. Only the latest application is considered if more than one form is filed for the same category.

Keep your entries accurate before final submission because the portal says personal details and uploaded records will not be corrected later. The form allows a review while it remains in edit mode, but eligibility entries cannot be changed. You do not need to send a hard copy to the High Court; retain the completed form and supporting records for future checking instead.
