The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has released a vacancy notice for 1 post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the Department of Medical Microbiology. This position is linked to a GWAS (Genome-Wide Association Study) research project — a cutting-edge genomics study hosted at one of India's premier medical research institutions. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: First Class Postgraduate Degree (M.Sc or equivalent integrated PG degree) in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or related fields — OR — Second Class Postgraduate Degree (including integrated PG) with a PhD in a relevant discipline.
• Preferred: Candidates with NET/GATE qualification are given preference as per ICMR norms.
• Experience: Research experience in genomics, GWAS, or molecular biology techniques is an advantage.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD and departmental candidates as per ICMR Rules No. 16/107/2008-Admin.II dated 04.10.2016.

Salary

• Monthly salary: Rs. 67,200 per month (Rs. 56,000 basic + Rs. 11,200 HRA @ 20%)
• As per ICMR project staff norms for Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical).
• No other regular government allowances apply — this is a contract/project position.

Selection Process

Selection is based on:
