PAU Senior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is engaging a Senior Research Fellow through its School of Organic & Natural Farming in Ludhiana. The fellowship belongs to the All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Integrated Farming System, an ICAR-backed scheme identified by the university as ICAR-28 (PC-2036). This places the selected researcher within a defined national research programme rather than the university's regular staffing structure.

The notice links the role directly to the School of Organic & Natural Farming and its Director. You would join a project setting where farming-system research is coordinated through the scheme, with the school's academic and project teams providing the working context. This is a research fellowship tied to the life of the scheme, so it suits someone who understands that continuation depends on project needs and formal extensions.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Initial tenure: The fellowship starts for six months and may be extended in further six-month blocks, subject to the scheme continuing.
  • Project limit: The engagement ends when the scheme ends, even if that happens before an extension period is complete.
  • Temporary status: The university describes the fellowship as purely temporary; it does not create a claim to a regular PAU appointment.
  • Security retention: PAU will hold the first full month's fellowship as security. It is released when you leave after giving the required notice or depositing the equivalent amount.
  • Leaving the fellowship: You must give one month's notice or pay one month's fellowship in place of notice. The notice says this condition does not apply when moving to another assignment within PAU.
  • Interview communication: You must appear before the selection committee at the office of the Director, School of Organic & Natural Farming. PAU will not issue a separate interview letter.
  • Travel: The university will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview, so you should plan your visit to Ludhiana accordingly.

Application Submission Notes

Use the prescribed PAU application form, which the notice says is available from the office of the Director, School of Organic & Natural Farming during working hours. The form charge must be paid through a bank draft payable at Ludhiana in favour of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana.

Send or deliver the completed form with the supporting certificate copies to the Director, School of Organic & Natural Farming, PAU, Ludhiana. Incomplete forms or forms without the supporting records will not be considered. Keep the originals ready as well, because you must bring your original testimonials to the interview for checking.

  • Coordinate field observations and research schedules with the project team
