OUAT Plant Breeding Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is engaging a Guest Faculty member in Plant Breeding and Genetics for its College of Agriculture at Bhawanipatna. The teaching assignment is intended to support the college while the position remains outside the regular faculty establishment. Your agriculture degree and subject-specific master's training must align with the discipline, while NET or Ph.D credentials can strengthen your profile.

The role sits within an agriculture campus at Arkabahali Farm, where Plant Breeding and Genetics teaching connects crop science with practical improvement programmes. You should be ready to teach degree-level learners, explain breeding principles clearly and contribute to the discipline's academic routine. Research published in peer-reviewed journals will also receive weight during assessment.

The Bhawanipatna assignment is discipline-specific, rather than part of a general faculty pool. Your classroom contribution will sit alongside the college's wider agricultural teaching and research activity, making clear explanation of genetics and crop-improvement ideas important. A strong research record can support your interview profile, particularly when it shows continued engagement with the subject.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Initial tenure: the guest-faculty engagement can continue for up to one year or until the post is filled regularly, whichever happens first.
  • Possible continuation: work beyond the first year depends on the college's requirement and your satisfactory performance; an extension is not automatic.
  • Temporary status: the engagement does not give you a right to claim a regular OUAT appointment.
  • Leaving the assignment: you may leave after giving one month's advance notice and completing the college's release process.
  • Panel validity: the empanelment remains valid for one year, while the college may adjust its requirement with approval from the competent authority.
  • Travel costs: OUAT will not pay travel or daily expenses for attending the walk-in.
  • Updates: if the interview cannot take place as scheduled, OUAT will announce the new arrangement on its website on the previous working day.

Application Submission Notes

Attend the walk-in at the Dean's Chamber, College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna and report early enough for registration and document checking. Bring your updated bio-data, original academic and experience records, two sets of self-attested copies and recent photographs. If you are currently employed, carry a no-objection certificate from your employer.

You must also bring the specified Demand Draft or Banker's Cheque in favour of the Comptroller, OUAT, Bhubaneswar before the interview. Check the university website before starting your journey, especially if travel arrangements are being made from outside Bhawanipatna, because schedule changes will be posted online.
