Who Can Apply?

For Warden (Rs. 21,175/month):

• You need a B.A. or B.Sc. degree only, from any recognized university.
• You must have at least 2 years of experience in hostel management.
• Only male candidates can apply, since this is a Boys' Hostel, and you must stay in the hostel 24x7.

For Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper (Rs. 7,500/month):

• You must have passed the HSC (10th) Examination.
• Only male candidates can apply.

For Head Cook and Assistant Cook (Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 6,750/month):

• No formal educational qualification is prescribed.
• Candidates trained in cookery or with cooking experience get preference.
• Only male candidates can apply, and you must stay in the hostel 24x7.
• A maximum of 2 Assistant Cooks can be engaged per hostel.

Preference is given to local candidates from the Begunia block; if not available, candidates from adjacent blocks in Khordha district will be considered.

Age Limit

• Warden: 30 to 60 years as on the date of advertisement (05 August 2026).
• Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper: 21 to 32 years as on the date of advertisement.
• Head Cook: 30 to 40 years as on the date of advertisement.
• Assistant Cook: 21 to 32 years as on the date of advertisement.

Salary

• Warden: Rs. 21,175 per month (inclusive of EPF share of employee and employer).
• Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper: Rs. 7,500 per month.
• Head Cook: Rs. 9,000 per month.
• Assistant Cook: Rs. 6,750 per month.
• All amounts include the EPF share of both employee and employer — no separate DA/HRA/TA is mentioned.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is different for each post:

1. Document Verification: A sub-committee checks your original certificates at the time of interview or practical test.
2. Warden: Selected through career-based marks (60%) — 10% for Matriculation, 20% for +2 and 30% for Graduation — plus interview (20%) and experience (20%).
3. Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper: Selected purely through an interview (100 marks).
4. Head Cook and Assistant Cook: Selected through a practical cooking test (100 marks) that evaluates taste, hygiene and preparation time.

The Warden and Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper interviews are held on one day, and the practical cooking test for Head Cook and Assistant Cook is held the next day. Shortlisted and rejected candidate lists are published on the district website and notice boards.
