NITTTR Kolkata Research Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Kolkata (NITTTR Kolkata) is recruiting research staff for a project in its Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The work is supported by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) 2025 and focuses on bias and fairness in large language models used in Indian healthcare.

The project, Bias and Fairness Assessment of Large Language Models in the Indian Healthcare Context, is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Indrajit Saha. Its research topics include generative artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, deep learning and multilingual AI, alongside model evaluation, bias mitigation and responsible AI.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project engagement: You join a temporary research assignment linked to this project. Your engagement ends with the project, and the institute's applicable rules govern the appointment.
• Initial tenure: The first appointment is for one year. Further yearly extensions depend on your performance and cannot run beyond the project's duration.
• Consideration of applications: Meeting the stated academic requirements does not guarantee an invitation. The institute considers merit, relevant experience and the needs of the project when deciding whom to call.
• Interview travel: You must cover your travel and daily expenses for attending the interview; the institute will not pay TA/DA.
