Who Can Apply?

Scientific Officer (CRF) - Rs. 70,000/month

• M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry, OR M.Tech./M.E. in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Materials, or Chemical Engineering with 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 on 10-point scale)
• Minimum 2 years experience in material characterisation and testing

Legal & IPR Officer - Rs. 70,000/month

• LLB or LLM from a Bar Council recognised university with 60% marks
• 3 years experience after LLB OR 2 years after LLM in litigation and IPR

Media & Graphics Officer - Rs. 70,000/month

• B.Des / M.Des / B.E. / B.Tech with certification in Graphic Design or UI-UX
• Minimum 2 years experience in graphic design or media roles

Placement Officer - Rs. 70,000/month

• B.E. / B.Tech plus full-time MBA (HR) with 60% marks
• Minimum 2 years experience in training and placement at a technical institute

Civil Engineer - Rs. 40,000/month

• Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 60% marks
• 3 years experience after Diploma OR 1 year after Degree

Age Limit

• Scientific Officer, Legal & IPR Officer, Media & Graphics Officer, Placement Officer: Below 40 years
• Civil Engineer: Below 50 years

Salary

• Scientific Officer, Legal & IPR Officer, Media & Graphics Officer, Placement Officer: Rs. 70,000 per month (consolidated)
• Civil Engineer: Rs. 40,000 per month (consolidated)
• The appointment is on a contract basis for one year, extendable up to 3 years subject to performance

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in two stages:

1. Shortlisting: Eligible applicants are shortlisted based on the qualification and experience criteria mentioned in the notification.
2. Walk-in Interview: Conducted in physical mode at NITK Surathkal as per GFR 2017 rules (Rules 177 to 196 and Chapter 7 - Selection of Individual Consultant).

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Central Research Facility, legal cell, placement cell, or media cell as per the post applied for
• Conduct experiments, data collection, and report preparation (Scientific Officer)
• Handle litigation, IPR matters, drafting, and legal advice (Legal & IPR Officer)
• Design graphics, manage social media, and produce institute media content (Media & Graphics Officer)
• Coordinate with companies for placements, internships, and student training programs (Placement Officer)
• Supervise civil works, maintenance, and infrastructure projects on campus (Civil Engineer)
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and support institute administration as required
