NCERT DTP Operator Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is engaging DTP Operators at its New Delhi campus on a purely contractual basis under the PAB Project. The work is desktop publishing, so you will be setting pages for NCERT material with design and typesetting software. Selection runs through walk-in registration and a skill test on the same day, so there is no online form to fill.

The same notice also called Assistant Editors for English, Hindi and Urdu; their walk-in day came first and has already passed. Who fits best: graduates in any subject who hold a one-year DTP diploma or certificate, or Class 12 pass candidates with the same diploma and hands-on DTP work experience. If you are comfortable with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and CorelDRAW and can type in Hindi and English (or Urdu, Sanskrit or another Indian language), you start with an edge.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The engagement runs till 31 March 2027 only, though NCERT says it is likely to be extended. It gives you no right to a regular appointment.
• Number of posts: The count is tentative. NCERT may raise or cut it, or leave posts unfilled, without giving reasons.
• Proof of eligibility: You will not be allowed into the skill test without documentary proof of your education and experience. Checking that you meet every condition is your responsibility.
• Experience proof: If you claim experience from a job that paid Rs. 40,000 or more a month (consolidated), bring an attested salary slip, bank statement or ITR to the skill test.
• Cut-off date: Your age and experience are counted as on the day of registration and document screening.
• No travel allowance: NCERT pays no TA/DA for attending the walk-in or skill test, or for joining the post.

Application Submission Notes

Report to CIET NCERT, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi 110016 on 9 October 2026. Walk-in registration and document checking run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the skill test starts at 11:00 a.m. the same day.

Bring the Annexure "A" application form from the notice, filled in block letters, along with all original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies. NCERT will not accept your candidature if the originals or copies are missing at registration.
