Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV) is building the faculty team for its Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme at Nagaon. The programme combines B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. Posts and Disciplines

• Head of Department in Education: academic leadership for the integrated programme, open at Professor or Associate Professor level.

Post-wise Duties

Head of Department

You will guide the academic plan, coordinate faculty work and keep the programme aligned with NCTE and UGC expectations. The role also involves supporting course delivery across the combined arts, science and education streams.

Assistant Professor in Liberal Discipline and Pedagogy

You will teach your subject through a teacher-education lens, connect disciplinary knowledge with classroom methods and help future teachers turn theory into practical lessons. Faculty may be asked to teach in more than one university programme when the institute needs it.

Assistant Professor in Educational Studies

You will work with the foundations of education, helping students understand learners, schools and teaching practice. A background in Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology or a related field can strengthen this work.

Assistant Professor in Health, Physical or Art Education

You will lead the programme's specialist activity-based learning, plan practical sessions and connect your subject with the wider preparation of future school teachers.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Regulatory approval: appointment remains subject to competent-authority approval and recognition of the ITEP programme by NCTE.
• Shortlisting: meeting the minimum academic standard does not guarantee an interview; the university may shortlist when needed.
• Teaching allocation: selected faculty can receive work in one or more programmes according to institute requirements.
• Reservation: Government of Assam and university rules apply to the recruitment.
• Interview travel: the university will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.
