Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) is hiring an Assistant Manager (Design) on a contract basis for its Civil Engineering Design Cell in Mumbai. If you have a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering plus a postgraduate degree in Structural Design (M.Tech/ME), and you already work in a Railway or Railway PSU at Level 7 or Level 8 (CDA/IDA), you can apply by email. Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. (MRVC), a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, was incorporated on 12 July 1999 to execute projects under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP). The corporation has already delivered a number of suburban rail improvement projects across Mumbai and its extended suburbs, and it continues to plan and develop the Mumbai Suburban Rail system. MRVC has now released Notification No. MRVC/E/AM(Design)/22/2026 dated 31 July 2026 to engage an Assistant Manager (Design) on contract for its ongoing and upcoming civil engineering projects in the Design Cell. You will be required to prepare all Railway structural design elements — including bridges and multi-storey buildings — for projects across the Mumbai Suburban Area. This post is open only to serving Railway or Railway PSU executives — it is not a fresh recruitment for the general public. The selected candidate will be engaged initially for 4 years, with the contract renewed further subject to a satisfactory performance report and continued requirement of the post.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA, plus a postgraduate degree in Structural Design (M.Tech / ME (Structure/Structural Engineering)/Civil with Structural Engineering)
• Eligibility: You must already be working as an executive in a Railway/Railway PSU, holding a post in Level 8 of CDA/IDA E2 grade (Rs. 50,000-1,60,000), OR in Level 7 of CDA/IDA E1 grade (Rs. 40,000-1,40,000) for a minimum of 2 years
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of structural design experience at IDA E1/E2 grade or equivalent, and at least 6 years of overall working experience in Government/Railway PSU
• Skills: In-depth understanding of structural designs (bridges, multi-storey buildings), knowledge of Indian Railway Codes and Manuals, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MIDAS, STAAD, SAP, E-Tab to create precise system designs and models
• Candidates with prior work experience in a suburban railway section get an added advantage.
• Your experience eligibility will be counted up to the date you submit your application.

Age Limit

• Your upper age should not exceed 35 years as on the date of issue of the Vacancy Notification (31 July 2026).

Salary

• You will get a Basic Pay of Rs. 50,000 per month under the IDA Equivalent E-2 grade (Rs. 50,000 - 1,60,000).
• Pay and perks include Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Cafeteria of Allowances, House Rent Allowance, Consolidated Travelling Allowance, and the employer's share of Provident Fund.
• You will also get benefits like mobile phone, laptop and Sodexo coupons as per corporation policy, plus pay protection if you already hold IDA E2 grade in a Railway/Railway PSU.
• Mandatory deductions for PF, Income Tax, and any other incidental recovery will be made from your gross salary as per extant rules.
• Medical facility is available as per the policy of the corporation.
• Leave benefits include 8 days Casual Leave per year, 2 Restricted Holidays per year, 10 days sick leave for every six months (with commutation provision), and 12 days special leave per year.

Selection Process

Selection is based on your eligibility, qualification and experience, followed by:

1. Document Verification: You must produce original certificates and a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) if you are currently employed with a Government Department/PSU/Autonomous body
2. Medical Examination: You must undergo a medical examination and submit a fitness certificate from a doctor (minimum MBBS) before joining, confirming you are of sound health

Selected candidates must execute a Surety Bond of Rs. 1 lakh (on Rs. 500 stamp paper) and serve MRVC for at least 2 years under a Service Agreement.
