Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri is recruiting Research Associates for the Biological Nitrogen Fixation Scheme in the Agricultural Bacteriology Section at the College of Agriculture, Pune. This is a contractual research engagement connected with biofertilizer production and field work. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Time-bound appointment: The initial engagement lasts six months. It also ends when the scheme tenure or the period in its sanction order ends, whichever comes first, without needing a separate individual notice.
• Early discontinuation: The university can discontinue this temporary appointment without advance intimation or giving a reason. You should account for this condition when considering the role.
• Full-time commitment: You will work under the Principal Investigator or institute head and follow the university’s administrative, financial and disciplinary rules. You cannot take up another appointment or outside work, whether paid or unpaid.
• Joining requirement: You must join within 10 days of receiving the appointment order. If you miss this period, the order is cancelled automatically.
• Service bond: You must sign a bond on a court-fee stamp worth Rs. 500 to serve for the appointment period. If you resign, you must give one month’s notice or forfeit one month’s pay. This stamp requirement concerns the service bond.
• No regular appointment claim: The scheme appointment gives you no right to absorption into a regular university post or a further contract after the scheme ends. The notice treats it as a non-regular engagement linked to the scheme.
• Attendance and absence: The institute keeps an attendance record. Leaving the assignment without permission for one month results in termination from the date your absence began.
• Leave arrangements: Casual leave and restricted holidays follow the applicable rules. Special leave for unforeseen circumstances may be allowed up to 10 days annually, while maternity and paternity leave depend on the prescribed conditions.
• Holiday duty: Compensatory leave may be allowed for holiday work assigned by the Principal Investigator. You may accumulate up to 15 days, use it within three months, and take no more than 10 days at once, subject to approval.
• Medical support: Institute dispensary treatment may be available. Use of another institute’s local dispensary needs both heads’ approval; emergency treatment during office hours follows the institute’s contingency-fund conditions.
• Work-related visits: The Principal Investigator may send you to symposia, seminars, conferences or workshops in India. Official tours and field assignments form part of this scheme engagement.
