MoEFCC Junior Hindi Translator Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has released a vacancy circular for filling up 1 post of Junior Hindi Translator at its Regional Office located in Nungambakkam, Chennai. This is a deputation-based recruitment, which means only serving Central Government or State Government employees are eligible — fresh graduates or private sector candidates cannot apply. The posting is in Tamil Nadu at the Regional Office under the Dy. Director General of Forests (Central).
Who Can Apply?
Service Eligibility (Deputation Condition A)
You must satisfy one of the following service conditions:
- Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in your parent cadre or department, OR
- 6 years of service in the grade rendered on a regular basis in Pay Band-2 (Rs. 5200–20200) with Grade Pay of Rs. 2800/- or equivalent in the parent cadre, OR
- 10 years of service in the grade rendered on a regular basis in Pay Band-2 (Rs. 5200–20200) with Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/- or equivalent in the parent cadre
Educational Qualification (Deputation Condition B)
In addition to the service requirement above, you must hold:
- Master's degree from a recognised university in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level; OR
- Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject; OR
- Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject; OR
- Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with both Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or either as medium and the other as a subject
- AND a recognised diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, OR 2 years of translation experience (Hindi to English and vice versa) in a Central/State Government office or undertaking
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (2 June 2026)
- Note: This is a deputation post. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC does not apply in the usual way; the 56-year ceiling is standard for deputation appointments.
Salary
- Pay Level: Level 6 in the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix
- Salary range: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month
- Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules
- Note: For deputation, pay fixation will be as per the deputation terms and conditions of the Central Government.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate with other sections to ensure timely delivery of translated materials
- Support the implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India
- Handle terminology-related queries and maintain a glossary of environment and forest-related terms
