⚠️ Deadline Extended: The Supreme Court of India has directed all High Courts and State Public Service Commissions to extend the application deadline for Civil Judge (Junior Division) positions to 30 April 2026. The High Court of Meghalaya has issued a Corrigendum dated 13 March 2026 accordingly. The original deadline of 17 March 2026 stands revised to 30 April 2026.

The High Court of Meghalaya is hiring 10 Civil Judge (Junior Division)-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class officers. If you have an LLB degree and at least 3 years of legal practice, this is your chance to join the Meghalaya Judicial Service with a starting salary of Rs. 77,840 per month.

Salary Details

Selection Process

The selection for Civil Judge (JD)-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class has three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (MCQ) -- 100 marks
2. Mains Examination (Written) -- 4 papers, total 370 marks
3. Viva Voce (Interview) -- 30 marks

You need to clear each stage to move to the next one. The total marks across Mains and Viva come to 400 marks.

The Prelims is an objective-type (MCQ) exam worth 100 marks. This is a screening test -- marks from Prelims are not counted in the final merit list.

Mains Examination

The Mains has 4 papers with a total of 370 marks:

Candidates who qualify the Mains will be called for an interview worth 30 marks.
