Vacancy Breakdown

• Manager (Civil) — E-3 Grade: 02 posts (SC — 1, EWS — 1)
• Senior Manager (Civil) — E-4 Grade: 02 posts (SC — 1, OBC (NCL) — 1)

Total: 4 posts. Reservations for SC, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS categories are as per Government of India guidelines. PwD reservation is on a horizontal basis.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Full-time 4-year B.E. (Civil) or B.Tech (Civil) from a UGC-recognized university
• Preference for candidates from Government Engineering Institutes classified as "Institute of National Importance" by the Ministry of Education
• Post-graduate Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Construction Management is preferred

Work Experience (as on 10.03.2026)

• Manager (Civil): Minimum 9 years of post-qualification civil construction experience (excluding Structural Steel and Road construction), preferably at an industrial plant site
• Senior Manager (Civil): Minimum 13 years of post-qualification civil construction experience (excluding Structural Steel and Road construction), preferably at an industrial plant site

Minimum Marks

• General, OBC (NCL), and EWS: 60% aggregate marks
• SC and PwD: 50% aggregate marks

Note: Only Indian nationals can apply. Work experience must be full-time on a regular salary basis. Freelance, teaching, research, internship, and articleship experience will not be counted.

Age Limit

• Manager (Civil): Maximum 36 years
• Senior Manager (Civil): Maximum 40 years
• Age is calculated as on 10 March 2026 (date of advertisement)

Age Relaxation

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• SC: 5 years
• PwD (General): 10 years
• PwD (OBC): 13 years
• PwD (SC): 15 years
• J&K domicile (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines
• Additional experience: 1 extra year of relaxation for every 1 extra year of experience beyond the minimum (up to 3 years maximum)
• Maximum age after all relaxations: 52 years

Salary

• Manager (Civil) — E-3 Grade: Rs. 80,000 — 3% — 2,20,000 per month (basic pay)
• Senior Manager (Civil) — E-4 Grade: Rs. 90,000 — 3% — 2,40,000 per month (basic pay)

Selection Process

1. Application Scrutiny: Your online application, documents, and experience details will be reviewed by the management
2. Shortlisting: Based on the scrutiny, candidates will be provisionally shortlisted for the interview (at the discretion of management)
3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The date, time, and venue will be posted on MECON's website and communicated via email
4. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must pass a medical exam at MECON's Company Hospital (Ispat Hospital, Shyamali, Ranchi)

Note: There is no written exam. Selection is based entirely on your application credentials and personal interview performance. MECON reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards for shortlisting.

• Assist in technical evaluation of tenders and procurement of civil engineering materials
