MbPA Chief Manager ICT Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) is hiring a Chief Manager for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to guide its technology and automation work in Mumbai. The assignment brings together planning, system integration and leadership of the team supporting the port's digital installations. You will join on a fixed-term contract, with no promise of a permanent appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The engagement runs for 3 years. MbPA may extend it by 2 years at its discretion, but you cannot claim regularisation or the service rights of permanent port staff.
• Existing employment: Retired officers and deputationists cannot take up this assignment. An internal port officer who accepts the position must resign from port service and join under the contract terms.
• Working hours: The normal schedule is 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM, unless the administration decides otherwise. You may need to work beyond those hours without additional compensation.
• Weekly rest: Sunday is normally the weekly day off, although the port may change it with advance notice. Work on a weekly rest day or national holiday can be balanced by a compensatory rest day.
• Leave: The contract provides 20 days of casual leave each year and public holidays. Unused leave cannot be carried forward or encashed, and excess absence leads to proportionate deductions.
• Outside work: You cannot take another assignment during this engagement or advise others on matters that conflict with the port's interests. Confidential port information must remain protected during your work.
• Ending the contract: MbPA can end the engagement with at least one month's written notice, without paying for the remaining contract period. If you choose to leave, you must give at least three months' notice.
• Early departure: Leaving without the required notice or its acceptance can lead to forfeiture of outstanding pay for the notice period. All port records and property must be returned when the engagement ends.
• Conduct: False information, serious misconduct, unsatisfactory work or an adverse police report may lead to termination under the notice's conditions. The contract also places restrictions on publishing material about official port business.
• Recruitment changes: MbPA may amend or cancel the exercise. Updates appear on its website, and individual applicants may not receive separate messages. Travel costs for attending an assessment are not reimbursed.
